Design

The HyperX Cloud 3 is an over-the-ear gaming headphone. The headphones have dimensions of 8.7 x 15.5 x 19 centimeters. The earcups are made of polycarbonate material.

The headphones weigh 307 grams, which is a decent weight for a wired gaming headphone with an attached microphone. The design is minimalistic yet very attractive and bold to flaunt.

The wired headphones are not water and dust resistant because they are specifically designed to be used in dedicated gaming environments with no external or outdoor exposure. 

The gaming-inspired design of the headphones’ cups makes them ultra light and soft with a leatherette finish, allowing you to wear them all day without sweating or aeration issues.

The headphones have a metallic frame that makes them highly agile, foldable, and bendable, resulting in high durability and strength. The headphones are not foldable, but their durability compensates for this.

Sound

The HyperX Cloud 3 features 53 mm drivers that are specially angled to fit and cover the ears for the most immersive experience. HyperX designed these drivers to exponentially enhance the dynamic sounds of gaming.

The DtsX lifetime spatial audio activation makes it very powerful in the 3D audio experience; the feature simply amplifies the immersive nature by localizing the precise sound, giving it rich and dynamic audio. 

The headphones include a detachable 10mm microphone that is both ultra-clear and noise-canceling in nature. It has been improved for greater voice clarity and accuracy with an inbuilt mesh filter that rejects disruptive sounds.

The mic captures very high-quality audio for the ingame voice chat and calls. It has got an LED Mic Mute indicator, which is a very useful feature to make you aware of the activation of the mic.

It also has dedicated mic mute controls with a button on the left earcup and a volume wheel on the right earcup to adjust the volume of your headset.

Connectivity

The HyperX Cloud 3 are wired headphones, which means they are not Bluetooth-compatible. Only wired media can be used to connect the headphones to various devices. 

The headphones are wired and multiplatform compatible, with a 3.5 mm jack, a 3.5mm to USB-C dongle, and a USB-C to USB-A adapter. 

The USB connectivity is compatible with PC, Playstation, Nintendo Switch, and mobile phones, while the 3.5 mm connectivity is compatible with Xbox, Playstation, and Nintendo Switch. 

Battery and Charging 

The HyperX Cloud 3 does not include an inbuilt battery of any kind, which is why it has to be constantly supplied with power in order to operate.
