On Sony’s Twitter handle, the company introduced its new premium flagship segment TWS (True Wireless Stereo) earbuds in India on Wednesday. The company stated that they are 25% smaller in size and 20% lighter in weight. Sony’s latest premium TWS earbuds offer exceptional sound quality and top-notch noise-canceling performance at a premium price.

Sony WF-1000XM5: Features and Specifications
The recently launched Sony WF-1000XM5 are true wireless earbuds with a rounded shape design, and the charging case has a rectangular shape. Each TWS earbud weighs 5.9 grams, and the charging case weighs 39 grams.
Noise reduction algorithms, developed with AI machine learning, effectively suppress ambient noise. The earbuds are equipped with two processors: the Sony HD noise-canceling processor QN2e and Sony integrated processor V2. These processors work with a noise reduction algorithm based on Deep Neural Network (DNN) processing with AI machine learning support. They can sense background noise and ambient noise in real-time using 6 microphones.
The TWS earbuds also feature 24-bit audio processing, DSEE Extreme, LDAC (Hi-Res Audio), and head tracking sensors, providing a thrilling Dolby Atmos® experience and 360 Spatial Sound.
The earbuds have Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, offering a range of 10 meters, and a low latency mode with a dedicated chip provided by the brand.
They come with an IPX4 rating and provide a total playback time of 24 hours—8 hours on a single charge for each earbud and an additional 16 hours with the charging case. They also support fast charging, providing 60 minutes of playback time with just 3 minutes of charging. The earbuds are charged via a Type-C port and support Qi technology for wireless charging, boasting a 460mAh battery capacity.

The Sony WF-1000XM5 Wireless Noise Cancelling Earbuds are priced at ₹24,990 in India and are available in black and white color options. They are open for pre-booking starting today on the official Sony website, and Amazon with deliveries scheduled to begin on October 18th.
